We’re having a Dive Against Debris dive for AWARE Week 2019.
Help make a difference and clean up a popular dive site!
Location is the 3rd Reef Pier in Bradenton Beach, Florida on beautiful Anna Maria Island. Saturday, September 21st, 2019 starting at 8am. The dive will be led by myself, Nick Bender. I am a PADI Instructor and live on the island. This would be a great opportunity to get your Dive Against Debris specialty so you can have a focused effort every dive to help clean up dive sites from pollution. This also helps you work towards Master Scuba Diver. You could also use this dive as an adventure dive towards your Advanced Open Water certification, if you aren’t an Advanced Open Water diver already.
This dive is FREE and open to any certified open water SCUBA diver. There is a charge if you want to have this dive count toward your certification. If you do, there may be some work you need to do ahead of time. So, contact me now to get the process going. There is also a charge for a dive guide if you’d like one.
Please RSVP by calling 843.855.2302 or emailing me at Nick@DiveBender.com. You can also call Ocean Pro Dive Shop at 941.924.3483
Dive gear is available for rent through Ocean Pro Dive Shop in Sarasota. Arrangements must be made in advance for gear rentals. 941.924.3483
Parking can be limited, so carpool if possible. Park right in front of the beach at about 11th Street South. There are no restrooms right near the dive site. Please use the restroom before arriving. Coquina Beach and Manatee Public beach both have public restrooms.
This is a shore dive and don’t worry if you aren’t bringing a dive buddy. There will be plenty of people to dive with!
The backup dive site is Leffis Key. It’s also on Anna Maria Island, across from Coquina Beach, on the bay (sound) side.
